When that 747 Chicago-Hong Kong flight is delayed or cancelled, passengers are faced with a dilemma: Take a later flight, choose a different airline, or perhaps suffer a stay-over in a warm, comfortable hotel. When a bush-pilot doesn't show up with that little Norseman packed full of groceries, residents of isolated, wilderness settlements are faced with a different kind of dilemma: How to survive until he does show up.
