Hello, and welcome to Just For Visitors.  Surely you realize that this is merely our slippery way of getting you to join LewisAire and come have some fun with us, right?   Well, I'm sure you're here for a reason, and we'll go forward hoping it wasn't an accidental click of the wrong button.

Hopefully you've taken the time to browse around the website to view the various things scattered here and there; maybe you've read our little wilderness newspaper, the Wilburville Gazette; maybe you've scanned Operations Center to see the functions and features available; maybe you've browsed the Scheduled Flights to see what kind of things we do; maybe you've looked at the pictures of our fleet. If you've not done this, we encourage you to take all the time you need to do so...that's what it's there for.

But there are a few things lacking at LewisAire:  One, there is no training program. Two, none of us know how to spell experiennse, so we don't dare insist that new members have lots of it.  Me, I'm still trying to figure out why landing upside-down causes such a ruckus!

Tell you what:  I'm feeling generous today, or perhaps it's just indigestion.  Either way, let's take a wild shot and assume that maybe you're thinking about joining LewisAire, or at least maybe you're wondering what makes bush-flying so special, and just maybe we can help nudge you over that fence.  How's about if I make a LewisAire airplane available to you right now, along with a couple of flights that are pretty typical of what we do on a regular basis?

Best way to see what we do is from the cockpit, right?

By golly, I say let's do it!  As you see, I am a whimsical devil.  So get your butt in gear and let's get this show off the ground; you've got work to do!

1.  Download and install the LewisAire aircraft onto your PC...CLICK HERE for the download page.

2.  Download and execute the LewisAire flights (Listed below).

3.  Send an email of your experience to visitors@lewisaire.com      Better still, JOIN LewisAire!

About LewisAire flights:  We've discovered that being a pilot is much more fun than being a software technician...so don't file a Flight Plan, and leave your automated gadgetry turned off

(such as FS Navigator)...enjoy flying as it was meant to be done.

Executing the flights:  Nothing could be simpler.  Make sure you're out of flight Simulator;

Download the LewisAire flights to your desktop and unzip them; Click on the little airplane, and have a nice flight!  NOTE: LewisAire flights start with a dead plane; you'll have to fire-up everything, including electrics, fuel-management, and prop/mixture settings.

About the airplane:  We have a wide range of aircraft in the fleet to accommodate just about any mission we might run into, but essentially we're a regional operation, and mostly we haul cargo and people around our region of nearly 50 airports.  So I thought this "Demo" should represent a normal day in the life of a LewisAire pilot.  You'll be flying the LewisAire DeHavilland Radial Otter; the same plane used in the video.  She's an amphibian with plenty of power, adequate speed, great stall characteristics, and an instrument panel you'll only see at LewisAire.  If you get bored along the way, flip the CD Player on and enjoy some music (On/Off button is on the top right corner of it, and you'll find some era-consistent songs programmed into the FM and AM buttons...or just plug a music CD into your PC and select whatever you want!).  By the way, there's a price tag for all that power hanging out in front: The old girl does like fuel, so be watchful of that, and be sure to trim the prop and mixture once you're in the air and stabilized.

A small favor:  If any of you happen to run into

Paul Hawkins, please ask him if he'd mind landing the Cessna 337 on its nose again.  Maintenance has run out of things to do, and they're becoming restless.

If you'd like a peek at how truly pleasant it is just buzzing lazily around some of the most beautiful country on the planet......

This video was created by one of our members, Vance Dylan; great job, Vance!

LewisAire Flight 167

What a pretty day for a ride...Sunny, clear; the nearest cloud just left Miami, headed for Greece.  You've got two fishermen aboard with ants in their britches to catch some of the big Rainbow Trout up here, and you're departing from Grande Prairie, BC (CYQU) soon as you can get airborne.  You're headed for a little pond that shouldn't be too hard to find, and you'll be doing a water-landing...you can do water landings, right?  Anyway, hop on over to Tumbler Ridge after you drop off the fishermen, get some juice in them wings, and c'mon back to Grande Prairie.   Enjoy the run; flight-briefing is on the aircraft Kneeboard (F10).

LewisAire Flight 142

Say...you ever heard of "Ain't Day"?  Well, this sure ain't your day, but ceilings are getting lower by the hour, and tomorrow's supposed to be socked in solid with fog.  So you'd better get cracking.  You've got almost 1100 pounds of avgas in the back, which ain't such-a-much for this little workhorse, but remember that 150 gallons of airplane juice would make quite an interesting bonfire, so be careful.  Operations say that if you wanna stay out the landscaping business, you gotta fly at 10,500 feet or so...with ceilings down to 8000 feet; now ain't that a fine howdy-do!  Don't you just love Operations people?

Have a good trip; flight-briefing is on the aircraft Kneeboard (F10).
